3/19/2016 023_ICE023_ICE - STRANGE SPACES: CULTURAL INVENTION IN ICELAND
Strange Spaces was an interdisciplinary field trip and summer course involving two Canadian Universities and the Icelandic Academy of the Arts. The course combined lectures, drawing exercises, building research and fieldwork along Highway #1. Among the many themes explored were Catch & Release: Icelandic Farm Prisons; Isolation Chamber - a remote sound recording studio to explore new Icelandic musical forms; and Bird House, studies on the migratory patterns and distinctive characteristics of the birds of Iceland. - University of Manitoba Faculty of Architecture & Dalhousie Faculty of Architecture and Planning Comments are closed.
