2/6/2014 013_READ013_READ is a book launch and an unfolding of its contents. The book traces the living and building that have registered on the island by Herbert Enns and his family over 20 years, starting with a ‘tent platform’ in 1993. Focused on a series of experimental/experiential buildings on an island at Shoal Lake, the book evokes a sense of ‘enactment’, a ‘dwelling’ on a land-scape, a sense now not-so-familiar to us when relating to contemporary homes. In the midst of the texts, drawings, sketches, and pictures of the built forms within the landscape, one could sense a humble but fantastic dream that is lived and practiced on a land, leading us to a lingering thought - ‘where are we?’
